Come sing Bach with us!
Each year PBF and the Oratorio Chorale co-host a one-night rehearsal, concert, and party in celebration of a Bach cantata. Amateur singers and music lovers gather after work for a picnic dinner. After an hour of rehearsal, with PBF and OC conductor Emily Isaacson, and a Bach-inspired cake party, singers perform the full cantata alongside the PBF’s internationally acclaimed soloists, and accompanist Scott Wheatley.
This year features Bach’s Cantata #4, “Christ lag in Todes Banden.” Sir John Eliot Gardiner calls Bach’s setting of Luther’s hymn “a bold, innovative piece of musical drama.”
Meet friends. Make music. Be a part of great art.
Tickets: $15 for singers ($5 for students and listeners) includes score rental, professional soloists, accompanist and refreshments. Sold at the door only, starting at 5:00 pm.
